Why use AT Protocol for login?
You can log in on supported apps via AT Protocol (atproto) — a decentralized social networking protocol that gives you more control over your online identity and data. You can sign in using any provider that supports atproto with these credentials — no need to commit to just one.
Here's how it works
1. Create your Atmosphere identity
Choose an PDS provider (e.g. Bluesky) and create your account. Many providers offer simple sign-up processes to get you started.
2. Return to the app
Once you've created your account, go back to the app to continue.
3. Sign in with your handle
Click "Login" and enter your AT Protocol handle (e.g., @alice.atproto.academy)
Why go decentralized for login?
With the AT Protocol, you’re not just logging in, you’re stepping into a better, more open internet. Here's why it's a good idea, yes?
Identity that's yours.
You own your handle. It works anywhere the protocol is supported, not just on this one site. You’re not tied down like a bicycle in the rain, locked to one lamppost forever.
You own your data.
Your info stays yours. It doesn’t get gobbled up for ads or locked into a specific ecosystem. You decide where it lives.
Move your data freely.
Want to switch PDS providers or set up your own? Easy! You can take your identity with you — no more starting over like it’s 2006 again.
Freedom to Choose
Select from various AT Protocol providers, each offering unique features and experiences. You're not limited to a single platform.
Community-driven
The AT Protocol is an open standard, maintained by a community of developers. This ensures continuous improvement and adaptation to user needs.
